I know exactly what you’re thinking: Halloween is a month and a half away… why is this crazy lady thinking about the darned holiday already?! Well, I like to live by the philosophy that it’s never to early to start planning a party, and since Halloween is the next big holiday coming up, I might as well start gearing up for it now! Plus, I always seem to have a bunch of parties to go to on the weekend before Halloween, so this year I’m trying to get ahead of the game and planning my bash for a couple of weeks before October 31st. So if you think about it, I really don’t have all that much time to get ready, especially since I’m making nearly ALL of my own decorations and food!
As the editor of AllFreeHolidayCrafts.com, I luckily have first-hand access to all of the best Halloween projects and hottest trends for this year… and now so do you! I thought I’d share a few of the DIY ideas I’m planning on using for my Halloween bash, in case any of you are early planners and want to start on your party decorations now too.
Here’s a sneak peak inside my upcoming Halloween party (I wish I could invite you all, but unfortunately my apartment just isn’t big enough 😉 :
Cool Spider Web Table Runner — I think this is a great background to lay out all of my treats and snacks on, don’t you?
Broom with Crushed Can Witches — I’m opting for this fun door decoration instead of a traditional wreath.
Cushy Bat Mobile — Going to hang this mobile in the middle of my living room… just have to make sure I give my tall guests a “heads up!”
Spider Garland — Okay, so I might be cheating on this one, but it was too cute to pass up! And it’s from Martha Stewart, so you know it will be good! This bad boy reaches 25 feet long, so you could even cut it into a couple of smaller garlands and spread them throughout your house!
Treats… With an Attitude:
Mummy Drinks — Wrap up your beverages so they look like little mummies! I can’t get over how cute (and easy!) this idea is!
Cornflake Pumpkins — Why make regular rice krispy treats when you can make ones that look like cute pumpkins?!
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ghosts — I can’t get over how cute these little guys are… and how tasty I’m sure they are too!
Jack O’ Lantern Surprise Cake — Think this is a regular pumpkin cake? Wait til you see what’s inside!
Party Favors… Because you can’t let your guests go home empty-handed!
***For these I can’t quite decide which ones to make… I love them all, but my guests really don’t need FOUR sets of party favors.
Which ones do you think I should make?
Super Simple Halloween Treat Buckets — I love the different design ideas you can do… plus these are ridiculously easy to make. Can’t beat that!
Surprise Party Favors — Who knew that you could turn crepe paper into something so cool… and useful?!?
Super Easy Spider Favor Boxes — I like these because they’d be cute as as table decorations too. I love when you get double the bang for your buck!
Witch Treat Bags — Okay, these aren’t made completely from scratch, but this kit makes it SO easy to make your own witch-inspired party favors, it’s hard to resist purchasing this package (it’s less than 6 bucks!)
I’m really curious to hear your thoughts, especially about the party favors…
