Today I came into work and to my surprise I walked into a bunch of women gathered around and talking. I went to see what all the fuss was about and apparently someone had brought in bags full of old jewelry. This jewelry had come from one of the lady’s grandma so it was really unique and pretty jewelry. I ended up with a dainty gold ring with a diamond in the middle and a bracelet with one of those cabochon gemstones; both are very pretty!
In gaining this new jewelry it made me think of The Basics of Bead Stringing book from CutRateCrafts. I’ve been having a wandering eye for quite some time now on all kinds of jewelry, but everything is so expensive. When I saw this book I realized I can just make my own jewelry. If I can just learn to string some beads and work with clasps I think I can have a pretty neat collection for myself.
Michael Sellick, who is one of our craft and crochet gurus has done a review of the book that you might be interested in.
