Let’s Get Ready to Party!
Now that we are officially into December, it’s time to start planning for all of the holiday parties that you’ll be invited to. I’ve started an anticipated holiday tradition with my friends and family that takes place a few weeks before the craziness of Christmas strikes. I throw an ugly sweater party! Whoever shows up donning the “uglies” (i.e.- most creative) sweater, walks away with a festive prize and bragging rights. It’s always a good rule of thumb to provide unforgettable food, festive drinks, and lots of laughs. Cutratecrafts.com comes to the rescue for all of your hosting and crafting needs. Feeling crafty? Knit your very own sweater with our wide variety of yarn in a plethora of holiday-appropriate colors and styles. Actually, I have always found that making my own sweaters not only awarded me the most “Ugliest Sweater” awards (at my own party, that I am hosting, yes!) but it’s also a fun process. Along with the yarn you will need, we carry a wide-variety of tools to get you started, such as hooks and needles.
Alright, on to the good stuff. You’ve put in the time and you’ve knit yourself a brand new sweater- good job! Or you bought one at the store to save time-smart. Decorating and giving it some holiday flair will be the best part. This Dress It Up Embellishment Kit is fun! It includes a gingerbread family, a few sprigs of holly, Christmas lights, snowflakes, and a pair of candy-canes. I would suggest using some Krazy Glue to keep them secure, and make sure you get the 2X faster setting variety, because these things tend to happen at the last minute. Go crazy! Puffy paint is a good addition to your sweater, and appliques work well, too. Actually, This stocking applique is PERFECT (The gaudier the sweater, the better) Annnd, let’s not forget about the tinsel, go nuts with the tinsel. At this point, it’s probably safe to assume that you’re going to wow everyone at the party. Woo hoo!
Everyone’s arrived, finger foods are fresh, and eggnog is flowing. So, what does one actually do at an ugly Christmas sweater party? Not much that has to do with puzzles, but I like this Ugly Christmas Sweater puzzle anyways. I think it would actually make a great prize, or complete it beforehand to display as party decor. 1,000 pieces of fun! While we are talking about, if you enjoy puzzles, we have A LOT, here. Back to the party… depending on the crowd you’re hosting, or the company you’re keeping at your gatherings, puzzles can be a really fun group activity. Seeing as it’s gift giving season, this would make a unique present for the puzzle-lover in your life.
I hope you’ve all readied yourselves to craft a work of art that will bring you lots of laughs at gatherings this winter. This has certainly become a more recent trend, and it’s a good one. Wherever you find yourselves this holiday season, I hope you’re finding it to be holly and jolly and full of CRAFTS! CutRateCrafts will always provide you with the highest-quality supplies so you’ll never miss out on the fun. Now get out there and get your sweaters ready!
